About Rachel Weissman, BAS MS LAc EAMP
I grew up surrounded by medicine — in a family of doctors, nurses, and dentists — where a passion for healing was a way of life. Drawn equally to the arts and sciences, I graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Engineering, earning degrees in Computer Science, Mathematics, Design, and Japanese.
During my undergraduate years, I lived and worked in Japan, where I was first introduced to the rich traditions of non-Western medicine. After completing my studies, I joined Apple Computer in Cupertino, California. However, it wasn’t long before my path shifted toward a deeper calling in medicine.
I went on to train at Bastyr University in Seattle and Tri-State College of Acupuncture in New York City, completing my Master of Science in Acupuncture. I later owned and operated a busy integrative clinic in Iowa City for seven years, collaborating closely with the University of Iowa and VA Hospitals to provide comprehensive patient care.
In 2024, I completed my Doctorate in Acupuncture at the Pacific College of Health and Science (PCHS), further deepening my commitment to advanced, integrative healing.
Now back in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, I live with my husband and three children. I serve as adjunct faculty and doctoral instructor at Bastyr University and offer private courses in Integrative Pain Management, Trigger Point Therapy, Gua Sha, and the use of Essential Oils in East Asian Medicine.
When not in clinic or teaching, I enjoy urban hikes, exploring the North Cascades with my family, hosting dinner parties prepared with homegrown vegetables and herbs, and tackling home improvement projects.
